FACTS ABOUT TUATARA
Tuataras are new-Zealand's largest reptile,with the adult male measuring up to 1.5kg.
The males weigh up to 1.5kg when fully grown.
Tuatara eat beetles,weta,worms,,millipedes and spiders.
The colour of tuatars are mix of olive green to brown to orange-red and they can change over time.
Tuatars are unusual reptiles because they love cold cold weather.
Tuatars do not survive well over 25 degrees centigrade,but can live below 5 degrees.
Tuataras have the slowest growth rate of any reptile.
They can live up to 60 to 100 years old.
